Based on a true story, Vengeance of the Lamb tells about Sarah and her sister Bonnie Lou who were
brutally victimized.  This is the story of how Sarah―terribly injured in mind, body, and spirit―survived the
nightmares, the madness and terror and, after months of healing in a hospital, how Sarah fought to protect
herself and the ones she loved from the monster called Rat-Doctor who would not leave her alone.

The author, James Rhodes, was raised in the Texas Panhandle.  Looking for a really big adventure, he
joined the Marine Corps.  After an Honorable Discharge and with a four-year accumulation of poker
winnings, he started college and began a struggle which ended seven years later with a Law Degree from
the University of Texas. But a job with some stuffy Dallas law firm wasn't for him. He piled his wife and
baby in his Jeep and lit out north to Alaska. For the next 25 years, he practiced law the same way he played
poker and built one of the largest law firms in the state. The challenge of the law was daunting, but the
urge to write grew inside him. He finally admitted that he had other fish to fry. He cashed in his chips with
this partners and headed back to Dripping Springs, Texas to do some serious writing. He had a lot to say
about the world and Texas in particular. Vengeance of the Lamb is his first effort.  He says “As a lawyer for
many years, I was privileged to represent many clients with brain damage and I grew to greatly sympathize
with the complexity of such injuries and the seemingly wholesale misunderstanding by family, friends and
the public of the terrible impact of such life-altering injuries.”
